Codicil Nine

Codicil Nine was a subsection of Order 66—an order to execute the Jedi Order as traitors to the Galactic Republic—which forbade the keeping of Force artifacts by citizens. Between around 8 BBY and 2 BBY, former University of Bar'leth Sava Madelin Sun was nearly arrested by three Imperial stormtroopers for violating the codicil after they discovered she was in possession of one such artifact in her home on the planet Antillion. The stormtrooper commander present informed Sun they would be making to a report to the sector's Imperial governor about the discovery, however, the commander and the two other troopers were killed by Lady Qi'ra—the leader of the criminal syndicate Crimson Dawn—before they could.

Codicil Nine was mentioned in a flashback in the third issue of the 2021 comic miniseries Star Wars: Crimson Reign. The issue was written by Charles Soule and published by Marvel Comics on March 9, 2022. Prior to the release of the issue, the codicil was mentioned in a preview article of the issue released on StarWars.com on March 2 of the same year.
