A shock trooper quartermaster served in the Coruscant Guard of the Galactic Republic's military branch during the Clone Wars. In 19 BBY, following the war's end, the quartermaster and several other shock troopers were stationed on their homeworld of Kamino after the activation of Order 66 by Supreme Chancellor Sheev Palpatine. On Kamino, they oversaw numerous situations, such as the transport of a deceased Jedi Master's body through a hangar bay in Tipoca City. Additionally, after the Republic's transformation into the Galactic Empire, in which the officer continued their service, the trooper escorted Imperial Admiral Wilhuff Tarkin to Kamino during their planned assessment of the clone army's continued production and service to the Imperial Army.
Afterward, the quartermaster encountered the troopers of Clone Force 99, who assumed that they were going to be reprimanded, and instead ordered them to the Tipoca City Training Facility to be tested in combat proficiency by Tarkin. Not long after their assessment, in which Clone Force 99 refused to comply with Imperial orders, the officer and their troopers were sent to the Clone Force's quarters to retrieve their gear, where they subsequently arrested the female clone Omega and medical droid AZI-3. Once the commandos returned to Kamino, the quartermaster and a team of other shock troopers assisted Tarkin in arresting the rogue troopers.

A clone trooper was born on the planet Kamino from the genetic material of the bounty hunter Jango Fett, who served as the clone template for the Grand Army of the Republic. By 19 BBY, during the Clone Wars, the trooper was assigned to the Galactic Republic's Coruscant Guard, in which they served as both a shock trooper and quartermaster for the corps on the planet Coruscant. In that year, after the end of the war with the death of Separatist Head of State and Supreme Martial Commander General Grievous, they and the rest of the clone army received specific orders from Supreme Chancellor Sheev Palpatine to execute Order 66, resulting in the galaxy-wide termination of the Jedi Order.
After the systematic Jedi Purge, hundreds of clone troopers were ordered to return back to their homeworld of Kamino, including the quartermaster and a contingent of shock troopers. Walking among a squad of troopers in a Tipoca City landing bay, the officer encountered the genetically defective clone commandos of Clone Force 99, nicknamed the Bad Batch, as they arrived on Kamino aboard the Omicron-class attack shuttle Marauder, coming from an operation on the planet Kaller. With the Bad Batch confused by the Coruscant Guard's presence and the current events after overhearing a level five containment announcement, the quartermaster approached them and explained that Grievous had been killed on the planet Utapau and that the Separatist command structure had collapsed, destroying the Confederacy entirely.
The quartermaster accompanied a detachment of the Coruscant Guard to Kamino by the end of the Clone Wars.
Still withholding suspicions for their fellow troopers, the Bad Batch noticed the deceased body of a Jedi Master being carried past them. The corpse dropped a lightsaber on the ground that was immediately picked up by the clone officer, after which the quartermaster stood back up and saw the alarmed faces of the commandos, to which they asked if there was a problem. Reassuring the officer that there were none, the squad left for their barracks but were advised by the quartermaster to be quick, as a mandatory general assembly on the Republic's state was to be held at 1500 hours. At the assembly, the entire clone army witnessed a special session that was proceeding in the Galactic Senate, during which Chancellor Palpatine addressed the so-called Jedi rebellion to overthrow the Republic and that in order to ensure and continue galactic security and stability, the Republic was being reorganized into the Galactic Empire, appointing himself its Galactic Emperor.
The quartermaster instructed Clone Force 99 to report to the training facility as ordered by Admiral Wilhuff Tarkin.
Days after the Republic's transformation, with the clone troopers now serving as the Empire's stormtroopers, the regime began planning to cease the continued production of clones for the Imperial Army, seeking to eventually replace them with a more cost-effective army of conscripted soldiers. In that time frame, the shock trooper quartermaster had departed from the cloning planet but later returned aboard an Imperial Nu-class shuttle, escorting Admiral Wilhuff Tarkin, who had come to assess the clone army and speak with Kaminoan Prime Minister Lama Su regarding the former Republic's contracts with the Kaminoan government. Desiring a full assessment, Admiral Tarkin summoned the troopers of Clone Force 99, although the squad assumed they were receiving punishment for an earlier brawl in the cafeteria. On their way, the squad passed by the quartermaster through a corridor and were redirected by them to the training facility. The officer further explained to the confused clones that Tarkin had requested them for a combat proficiency test for his evaluation and told them to get ready.
After they passed the training simulation, an impressed Tarkin presented Clone Force 99 with an assignment to eliminate a group of insurgents led by Saw Gerrera located in the Onderon sector. Although the targets were labeled as Separatist forces, the commandos refused to follow through with their assignment. Informed of the squad's failure via a probe droid, the quartermaster and a pair of white-armored clone troopers were ordered to retrieve Clone Force 99's gear from their barracks and deliver it to the hangar bay. Upon entry, however, the officer and their men encountered the young female clone named Omega and the AZ-series medical droid AZI-3, both of whom had not been authorized to enter the barracks. While their troopers packed the gear, the quartermaster grabbed Omega and attempted to take her away but was briefly stopped by AZI-3, who explained that the Empire had no authority over them due to their affiliation with the Kaminoan government. Frustrated by the droid touching their arm, the officer blasted and stunned AZI-3, after which the trooper dragged Omega out and brought her to a Kaminoan prison cell.

Planning to arrest Clone Force 99 for failing their mission, the quartermaster and a group of shock troopers situated themselves throughout a hangar bay that the enroute Marauder and squad would be landing outside of. After the clone commandos entered the hangar, the quartermaster and their fellow troopers revealed themselves from behind the containers in the bay and surrounded the squad. While the Bad Batch was held at gunpoint, Tarkin entered the hangar and asserted that failure and treasonous plotting with Saw Gerrera was not tolerated by the Empire, ordering them to be arrested and held in the brig. Escorted to the prison by the quartermaster and the other troopers, the Bad Batch soon discovered that the holding cell was a retrofitted facility and started planning their escape. The squad then made their escape from both the cell and Kamino with Omega, but not their squadmate Crosshair, who had exhibited loyalty to the Empire.
The quartermaster attacked AZI-3 and accosted Omega, both of whom were official Kaminoan personnel.
A clone of the bounty hunter Jango Fett, the shock trooper quartermaster was a human individual who stood at 1.83 meters (6 ft) in height, weighed eighty kilograms, and had tan skin. Sternly and frankly spoken, they held both a dislike for droids and little regard for personnel and property not affiliated with the Empire. When the droid AZI-3 attempted to stop them from arresting Omega, as they were Kaminoan government personnel, the officer grew frustrated and angrily called AZI-3 "droid" as opposed to his name before stunning him in response to being touched.
A military-based officer and quartermaster, they were responsible for a number of duties to both the Republic and Empire. They could also lead and command other clone troopers, including Clone Sergeants and those in and outside of the Coruscant Guard. In addition, the quartermaster also escorted high-ranking officers.
The quartermaster was equipped with a pauldron in addition to their Phase II clone trooper armor.
At birth, like the other clone troopers, the quartermaster was implanted by the Kaminoan scientists with a behavioral modification biochip to ensure that the trooper would not resist certain orders. The quartermaster wore a set of Phase II clone trooper armor that came equipped with an integrated comlink on its right arm and scrambler capable of using all Republic communications protocols. The armor, painted with bright red markings to distinguish their service to the Coruscant Guard, was adorned with a red pauldron on its left shoulder to indicate their position as a military officer.
Also equipped with a datapad, the quartermaster was armed with a standard-issue DC-15A blaster carbine and DC-17 hand blaster kept in a holster on their right thigh. On the back of their utility belt, they were also equipped with a single N-20 Baradium-core thermal detonator.
The shock trooper quartermaster first appeared as an unidentified character in "Aftermath," the premier episode of the Star Wars: The Bad Batch animated television series' first season, which aired on May 4, 2021 on Disney+. Prior to the release of the episode, the quartermaster was revealed in a trailer for the show released on March 30 of that year. Alongside the other clone troopers of both Star Wars: The Bad Batch and its predecessor, Star Wars: The Clone Wars, the shock trooper was voiced by Dee Bradley Baker. According to Lucasfilm Story Group executive Pablo Hidalgo, the clone trooper was identified in the episode's script as a quartermaster.
