Unidentified Kilji vassal (comm)

A Kilji vassal served aboard the Kilji Illumine war cruiser Whetstone as its comm operator under the command of Generalirius Nakirre, the Illumine's ruler, around 18 BBY. When the war cruiser traveled to the Unknown Regions' "Sunrise" system, it encountered a deactivated fleet allied with the Chiss Ascendancy nation. "Jixtus," Nakirre's Grysk ally, instructed the vassal to broadcast a signal calling for survivors; however, the fleet's flagship, the Aelos, was already broadcasting a signal.

Biography

A Kilji served the Kilji Illumine, his species' nation, as a Kilji vassal, a follower of the Kilji way of order and enlightenment religion. In 18 BBY,<ref name="Date-LE">Star Wars: Timelines places the main events of Thrawn Ascendancy: Lesser Evil in 18 BBY.ref> he served the Illumine's ruler, Generalirius Nakirre, as the comm operator of the generalirius's flagship, the Kilji war cruiser Whetstone. Following the Whetstones arrival at the Unknown Regions' "Sunrise" system, Nakirre's Grysk ally, "Jixtus," commanded the vassal to broadcast a signal calling for survivors after the Grysk saw a deactivated fleet of warships allied with the Chiss Ascendancy nation; however, the fleet's flagship, the Aelos, was already broadcasting a signal, which the Kilji pointed out.

Shortly after, Jixtus murdered Nakirre, prompting the generalirius's vassals to go catatonic and mourn their late leader. One of them told Pathfinder navigator Qilori that the Whetstones vassals could not think or make any move without Nakirre, for the religion they followed prevented them from doing so. After the Ascendancy fleet was reactivated and it began to engage Jixtus's fleet, the Grysk left the Whetstone for his flagship, the FateSpinner, and attempted to communicate with Qilori. As the Kilji comm operator was bowed over his comm station, the navigator was forced to use Nakirre's vacant station to speak with Jixtus via comm.

After the navigator spoke with the Grysk, the FateSpinner moved to flee. Qilori then promised to guide the Whetstones vassals until he could return them to their people. Under the Pathfinder's directive, a weapons vassal fired the war cruiser's weaponry at the FateSpinner, destroying the starship's aft flank, inducing Jixtus to destroy his flagship and kill himself.
