Reginna Bel Typolla

Reginna Bel Typolla or Gina was a Human female from the planet Malthor. After a period off-world in which she became involved in weapons smuggling, she returned to her home planet and became an administrative worker in the spaceport in the city of Fabrillan, where she was recruited by the Rebel Alliance as a member of a sleeper cell designated V-16.

Biography

Gina was born on the planet Malthor around 26 BBY. Sometime before 1 BBY she was active as a gunrunner in the Medepiest Uprising, but after surviving that campaign, she returned to Malthor, where she became a uniformed employee of the Fabrillan City Spaceport—specifically, she was the official charged with reviewing the documentation of all vessels docked at the facility, and making administrative copies of their cargo and passenger inventories.

Around 1 BBY, she was recruited by the Alliance to Restore the Republic as a member of Sleeper Cell V-16, tasked with simply sharing the information she had access to. Occasionally, she furnished specific details on Imperial movements through Fabrillan, or on smugglers and cargo pilots who might be useful to the Alliance, but her primary role involved making additional copies of the extensive information she obtained on shipping arriving at the port, which she would dead-drop every few days by discarding an apparently damaged computer memory device.

The clandestine methods Gina used to pass on information meant that she had no direct knowledge of other Alliance agents except her original recruiter, and she was unaware that the material she supplied found its way to Berren Sid Té, who she knew only as the head of a network of street vendors and perhaps a local information broker; she also believed that the Alliance was unware of her past activities as a gunrunner. However, although Sid was not formally told of her identity either, he had been able to work it out relatively easily due to the quantity of information he had access to, and senior Alliance personnel like General Airen Cracken were fully aware of her past—leading to a slight concern that the Empire might have also found out.

Personality and traits

Gina was a Human female and a native to Malthor. As both a gunrunner and an Alliance operative, she showed a willingness to oppose the Empire, but she seems to have been content to provide support without getting too obviously involved, and often underestimated how much others knew about her activities.

Skills and abilities

As a former smuggler turned spaceport official, Gina had a general familiarity with cargo vessels and computer devices, and a good ability to navigate security systems, bureaucracy and planetary society; but she was also a competent space pilot, particularly on more basic models of starship, and was similarly skilled in systems like navacomps, repulsorlifts, sensors, and shields, as well as having some ability as a freighter mechanic. Her combat skills were comparatively slight and largely defensive, but she was a decent shot with the hold-out blaster that she carried.

Equipment

She carried miscellaneous tools and datapads as part of her job. She also had datacard keys to the spaceport and carried a hold-out blaster for defence. When necessary, she flew Margo Flarestream's transport, a stock Ghtroc freighter, called Pepper's Hope, and swapped into a flight-suit outfitted with a blast vest for protection, plus a heavy pistol and a knife (though she had no skill with either).

Behind the scenes

Reginna Bel Typolla was designed by Ted Stark for Cracken's Rebel Operatives, a supplement for the Star Wars: The Roleplaying Game that was published by West End Games in 1994. She was illustrated by Brian Schomburg.

Her entry contains two "equipment" sections, the second of which is a duplicate of the relevant part of the preceding entry for Pepper Flarestream, whose ship, flight gear and weaponry it describes.
