Mission to Elom

After Darth Malgus acquired a relic from the Jedi Enclave ruins on the planet Dantooine that belonged to Darth Nul, an ancient female Sith Lord whose records had been erased from history, Malgus decided to travel to her temple on the planet Elom.

At the same time, the Jedi Order found out about Darth Nul and the campaign of secrecy directed towards erasing her from history. They also found a conntection between Elom and Darth Nul, believing that this planet was were the Sith Lord spent time and where Malgus hoped to find some answers.

Jedi Master Denolm Orr assembled a team consisting of Jedi Master Gan Enok, Material Analysis Dr. Mykon Ora, Chief engineer Rolan Aun, Specialist Tiriz Etto, and his Padawan Sa'har Kateen to investigate the planet.

Denolm Orr's team encountered Imperial forces that left only him and his padawan Sa'har alive by the time they reached the Temple of Nul. On the temple they found a mysterious device that was using a holocron to power itself up. Orr and Kateen soon found themselves facing another Sith at the temple, when Denolm told Sa'har to destroy the machine while he handled their enemy, the Sith was unexpectedly killed by Darth Malgus, who had just arrived at the temple.

While Malgus and Orr dueled, Sa'har entered the machine at the temple and was met with a vision of her past, where she saw how her Master left her brother behind when he took only her as his Padawan. Orr used the Force to destroy the machine and free Sa'har from its control, but after the young Padawan retrieved the holocron from the machine, she refused to give it to Orr, saying that he could've saved her brother. Both Padawan and Master fought for the holocron, allowing Malgus to recover from the fight and entangle Orr with the Force before striking him down.

This brought Kateen back to her senses and the padawan engaged in a duel with the rogue Sith Lord for the holocron, but she was unfortunately Force-pushed and later buried under the rubble of the falling temple by Malgus, who used this opportunity to snatch the holocron from her hands. The Sith Lord left Sa'har to her own fate while he told her that she needed to break free of her cage if she was ready.

As Malgus escaped the temple and prepared to leave Elom, he encountered The Commander, Tau Idair and Lana Beniko, all of whom felt his presence through the force. The rogue Sith Lord engaged in combat with all three force users and after a heated battle he was ultimately defeated. While Malgus refused to give up the fight, many members of the Jedi order arrived at Elom and helped The Commander immobilize the Sith Lord with the force.

The rogue Sith Lord was imprisoned in a special prison, designed to hold someone as powerful as him, aboard Carrick Station. While imprisoned and awaiting interrogation, Malgus mused at the idea that the Alliance Commander thought that the ordeal was over and revealed to them that he discovered a path to power that was concealed by thrones and hidden by councils. Malgus then proclaimed that he saw a vision of a galaxy in flames and that what he had started would not end with him, as this was merely the beginning.

Sa'har also survived the destruction of the temple and made it out alive long after Malgus left, only to discover that the holocron was left hidden amid the temple's rubble by Malgus. The padawan used the force to grab the holocron before leaving the place.

The gameplay for Imperial players remains largely the same though with different characters appearing. Firstly, the player is accompanied by Lana Beniko and Darth Rivix whom the former advises the player to keep a watchful eye on the latter.

During the ending with Malgus' capture, Darth Krovos and Darth Xarion arrive with a number of Sith Warriors to restrain the rogue Sith with Emperor Vowrawn, or Empress Acina depending on previous choices in the War for Iokath storyline, accompanied by two Imperial Guards appear in the end. Malgus is then imprisoned in the lower level of Vaiken Spacedock.
