Kaxx was a Weequay who lived in Peka village on the world Batuu. Around 379 BBY, his friend Tuntis was killed by a salmaca, an enormous lizard-like creature that was raiding Peka. Kaxx sought revenge, and traveled to the salmaca's cave, but was stopped from killing it by Jedi Padawan Rooper Nitani.
Kaxx was a Weequay who lived in Peka village on the world Batuu. He was a friend of Tuntis, another resident of Peka, and by around 379 BBY, he was elderly. Around that year, Tuntis was killed by a salmaca that had been raiding homes in Peka for valuables to line its nest.
Padawan Rooper Nitani (pictured) protected Kaxx and the salmaca from each other.
Later, Jedi Padawan Rooper Nitani arrived in Peka during her Jedi Trials and agreed to help the villagers with their problem. Kaxx, who had been preparing to head to the salmaca's cave with a small group of villagers, offered to show her the way there. When they arrived at the cave, Nitani convinced the villagers to wait outside and guard the cave's entrance, as she had sensed Kaxx's anger and desire for revenge and realized that he was a danger to himself and others.
The villagers later entered the cave and shot the salmaca with blasters to try to kill it. However, Nitani used her Master's plasma shield, which she had found in the cave, to deflect the blaster shots. Seeing this, Kaxx began to exclaim in surprise but was charged by the salmaca before he could finish speaking. As Nitani used the shield to defend the villagers, she ordered them to leave and threatened to allow the salmaca to eat them if they stayed. Kaxx and the other villagers listened and fled the cavern.
Kaxx was a Weequay who was elderly by 379 BBY. He was angered by the death of Tuntis, and wanted revenge.
Kaxx wore a hat and carried a blaster, which he used to attack the salmaca.
Kaxx appeared in the short story "Shield of the Jedi," written by George Mann and published in the 2023 young-adult anthology The High Republic: Tales of Light and Life as a part of the Star Wars: The High Republic multimedia project.
