A grove of durga berries was located on the planet Hon-Tallos. The grove consisted of a forest with many vines and plants, including the berries. During the High Republic Era, the Nautolan girl Vroma took the durga berry from the grove to give to her mothers, who loved them. The human male Ghenli would bully Vroma and accuse her of stealing from the grove. One day, Ghenli shoved Vroma over after she took a berry and threatened her to not return to the grove, saying the durga berry groves were not open for "tentacle-heads." Nihil member Deva Lompop and Vroma then traveled to the grove to get back at the bully.
Vroma would usually pick a berry and then exit the grove through the main entrance because the back took longer. Lompop used this knowledge to develop a plan to stop the bully. Vroma was walking through the woods with a durga berry when Ghenli and his friends confronted her for taking it. When Vroma told him to not anger the Grove Guardians, the group chased her. As they ran, Ghenli's friends friends were picked off until only he remained. A large angry figure appeared from the trees, calling themselves the "Guardian of the Groves" jumped at Ghenli and opened its mouth, revealing all its teeth. Ghenli was scared and promised to never steal from Vroma again and ran off. Lompop and Vroma then left the grove and returned to the city.
