Durga berry

The durga berry was a type of berry found on the astronomical object Hon-Tallos and the planet Dalna. During the High Republic Era, durga berries grew on Hon-Tallos in groves. The Nautolan Vroma took a durga berry from a grove, but she was chased through the city and pushed down by the human boy Ghenli, crushing the fruit. Vroma wanted the berry for her mothers because it was their favorite. She then ran into Nihil marauder Deva Lompop, who helped her come up with a plan to get payback on the bully.

At the groves, Vroma picked a durga berry from a vine as Lompop created her plan. Vroma was skeptical of the plan but went along anyways. As Ghenli and his friends chased Vroma, each one was picked off by Lompop until Ghenli remained. Lompop claimed to be the leader of the Grove Guardians and extended her mouth to scare Ghenli. Ghenli confessed to stealing the fruit and promised to never do it again and ran off. Vroma thanked Lompop for the help and ran off with the durga berry to her mothers.

The Evereni cultist from the Path of the Open Hand Marda Ro enjoyed a durga berry flavored ice with Jedi Padawan Kevmo Zink from a stall on the streets of Ferdan.

The durga berry first appeared in the middle grade novel The High Republic: Mission to Disaster, written by Justina Ireland and the e-book was published by Disney–Lucasfilm Press on January 4, 2022. The berry was first pictured in "Tales of Villainy: A Very Nihil Interlude," the back story of the fourteenth and final issue of the 2020 Star Wars Adventures anthology Star Wars comic book series. The comic story was also written by Ireland, illustrated by Nick Brokenshire and published by IDW Publishing on February 9, 2022

Although Mission to Disaster describes durga berries as round and purple, "A Very Nihil Interlude" depicts the fruit as oblong and green with fuzzy skin.
