Zab

Zab was a male individual who served as a sergeant in the Rebel Alliance's 61st Mobile Infantry, better known as Twilight Company. He led a squad which smuggled an astromech droid into a surveillance center on Haidoral Prime and helped First Sergeant Hazram Namir's squad overrun an Imperial scout post on Coyerti. He also led a heavy-fire team when boarding an Imperial heavy freighter.

On Mardona III, Zab, Gadren and Mzun raised concerns for the safety of civilians when Namir suggesting using a housing block as a fallback position but were ultimately ignored. After Twilight Company's CR90 corvette, the Thunderstrike, crashed on Sullust, Zab and his squad joined the rescue party to recover the survivors and set up a makeshift sniper's nest to cover their comrades.

Around 5 ABY, Zab served with Twilight Company—now under the New Republic, the Alliance's successor—during a campaign in the Cerberon system. The sergeant at one point went on a scouting mission to the planet Catadra before returning to the largely urban world Troithe and having dinner with some other soldiers and most of the New Republic's Alphabet Squadron, telling the story of the fall of Yordain Core in this time.

After the Empire's 204th Imperial Fighter Wing decimated the New Republic forces in the Cerberon system and forced Twilight Company's troops from their positions, Zab rendezvoused with a number of others at a speeder garage, where he told the story of the company's time on Sullust during a conversation. The splinter group of Twilight Company then made its way to the Scar of Troithe, where it came to attack the Core Nine mining megafacility. During the attack, Zab and his soldiers entered the facility and rushed the defenders, reporting over his comm when finding the facility's control center.

Fighting for Twilight Company

At some point, Zab was present for the fall of the Yordain Core and a blessing by a . During the Galactic Civil War, he served in the Rebel Alliance's 61st Mobile Infantry, better known as Twilight Company, rising to the rank of sergeant. Zab took charge of his own squad, which was described by First Sergeant Hazram Namir as "idiots who could make a hydrospanner backfire". In 3 ABY, Twilight Company attacked the planet Haidoral Prime. In the final day of the campaign, Zab and his squad smuggled an astromech droid into the surveillance center of Haidoral's capital city, Haidoral Administrative Center One, to broadcast a message across the public address system, calling for willing civilians to join the company.

After departing Haidoral Prime, Twilight Company launched a campaign on the planet Coyerti to protect its inhabitants from the Empire during their breeding season. On the first day, Zab's squad teamed with Namir and his squad in attack an assortment of tens and perimeter sensors that made up an Imperial scout post. Both teams coordinated their attack plan prior to being dropped onto Coyerti. The two squads approached the scout post from opposite sides and won the battle within ten minutes, all of them signaling each other when the fighting was over. Zab wanted to take the enemy speeders, but Namir talked him out of it as they would likely have had homing beacons on them. Both squads then fled the scout post 5 minutes later to avoid reinforcements in the form of TIE/sa bombers.

Raid in the Redhurne System

After departing Coyerti, Twilight Company, aboard their CR90 corvette the Thunderstrike and its escort the Braha'tok-class gunship Apailana's Promise, was attacked three times by Imperial forces due to a trail being left by the Thunderstrike's damaged hyperdrive which the Empire could track. Twilight Company's higher-ups held a meeting and decided to board an Imperial mining vessel to seize supplies to repair their corvette. Zab was among those chosen for the mission.

Twilight Company targeted an Imperial heavy freighter in the Redhurne system. Boarding it on boarding pods, Zab led a heavy-fire team at the vanguard of the assault, breaking through blast doors alongside alongside the soldier Carver's own heavy-fire team. When Sergeant Fektrin signaled for a full withdrawal, Zab and the other squad leaders acknowledged and began to retract their squads. An Imperial Gozanti-class cruiser eventually entered the space battle and Twilight Company's captain, Micha Evon, gave the squads five minutes to evacuate. All of the squad leaders gave orders to their teams and returned to the boarding pods, with Sergeants Fektrin and Maximian Ajax dying during the evacuation.

Operation Ringbreaker

Shortly after the Battle of Hoth, Twilight Company began Operation Ringbreaker, which targeted a number of Imperial worlds before the main objective Kuat Drive Yards. The first world was the planet Mardona III, where Twilight Company was deployed by dropships and descended from the surface through tunnels, attaching ion mines to the tramways. On the second day, Namir had the squads cluster below a housing block as he wanted to use it as a fallback position for the squads. Zab and the alien soldiers Gadren and Mzun voiced their concerns over risking civilian lives, but Namir ultimately proceeded with his plan. After six days on Mardona III, Twilight Company returned to the Thunderstrike on the dropships.

Later into Operation Ringbreaker, Twilight Company captured the Inyusu Tor mineral processing facility on Sullust. However, the Thunderstrike was shot down before it could take the company off-world. Namir led a rescue team to recover survivors and salvage the corvette. Zab's squad set up a makeshift sniper's nest to cover those salvaging medical equipment. Twilight Company came to defend the Inyusu Tor facility against the local Imperial forces on Sullust. The company came out victorious, and departed the world after.

Operations on Troithe

In 4 ABY, the Alliance secured a major victory at the Endor system, which saw the death of Emperor Palpatine. Twilight Company continued to serve with the Alliance as it transitioned into the New Republic after, with Zab among the company. Around 5 ABY, Twilight Company joined a battle group led by the Twi'lek General Hera Syndulla in a campaign in the Cerberon system, a set of planets orbiting a blackhole. During the campaign, the company resided on Syndulla's Acclamator-class transgalactic military assault ship Lodestar, and fought through the districts on the planet Troithe.

One day, Zab was present at Twilight Company's camp inside the Lodestars with a number of other soldiers when a trio of pilots from the New Republic's Alphabet Squadron. Sergeant Carver conversed with the BTL-A4 Y-wing assault starfighter/bomber pilot Nath Tensent who remained with the RZ-1 A-wing interceptor Wyl Lark to socialize with the dozen soldiers including Zab, Twitch, Vitale and Junior. Tensent learned Zab's name during the conversations.

Some days later, Zab went on a scouting mission to the planet Catadra, another world in the Cerberon system, where he witnessed an incident that reminded him of the fall of the Yordain Core. Upon returning to Troithe, he joined a number of other soldiers who were telling stories with most of the pilots of Alphabet Squadron over dinner at a refugee camp. During this, Zab told the story of the incident on Catadra and consequentially the events around the Yordain Core. The A/SF-01 B-wing starfighter pilot Chass na Chadic replied with her own story about her time as a part of the Cavern Angels an X-wing starfighter squadron which served the extremist rebel cell the Partisans.

Hiding away

As the campaign in the Cerberon system progressed, Alphabet Squadron and the rest of the battle groups fleet prepared for the arrival of the Empire's 204th Imperial Fighter Wing while Syndulla departed to the Bormea sector to assist the New Republic's Vanguard Squadron. Namir and half of Twilight awaiting the fighter wings arrival on an asteroid approaching Troithe, anticipating the 204th to land on the asteroid, to slaughter their pilots. However, the fighter wing out-smarted the New Republic fleet and destroyed the Lodestar, although the 204th's capital ships were too lost.

With the New Republic's fleet in the Cerberon system crippled, the 204th proceeded to force Twilight Company's squads from their positions in the districts. Zab fled to a rendezvous in the Highgarden District at a three-story speeder garage, joining a number of soldiers including Carver, Twitch, Junior and the Alphabet Squadron pilots Tensent and Lark. While the New Republic personnel awaited more arrivals, they told stories, and Zab mentioned Twilight Company's time on Sullust, commending the late Thunderstrike.

Assault on Core Nine

With half of Twilight Company stranded on an asteroid, Carver assumed command of the splinter group of the company which had amassed in the Highgarden District on Troithe. Carver's group, Zab included, made their way to the Scar of Troithe, a mined out continent on the planet. In that time, Lark picked a handful of the soldiers to fly refurbished aircraft for his new squadron to give the group air power. Carver and the other senior personnel began planning an assault on the Core Nine mining megafacility, which the group hastily began after the 204th started directing their forces to the facility.

Twilight Company launched an attack on Core Nine soon after, with Lark's squadron providing air support. Tensent created a breach in the facility as Zab and other soldiers pushed towards it, advancing across open terrain despite being completely exposed to enemy fire. Zab and Twitch then led an assault into Core Nine, entering through a gap in the duracrete walls. While Twitch's squads secured carved through enemy lines corridor by corridor, Zab's rushed the defenders, bringing some success. After finding an unlit control center, Zab reported back over his comm, mentioning the mining controls as well as the heavy opposition that his soldiers were facing towards Core Nine's hangar.

As the battle progressed, Syndulla returned aboard the MC75 Star Cruiser Temperance with Vanguard Squadron. The 204th escaped soon after aboard a freighter that had been docked in Core Nine's hangar. With the battle won, Syndulla's battle group proceeded to liberate the Cerberon system and rescue Namir and his half of Twilight Company from the asteroid, bringing the company together again.

Personality and traits

Zab was a male individual who could speak native Sullustan. After taking an Imperial scout post on Coyerti, the sergeant wanted to steal the speeders, although Hazram Namir convinced him otherwise. When Namir wished to use a housing block as a fall back position on Mardona III, Zab was among those to raise concerns for the civilian's lives. Despite finding the Lodestar prettier than the Thunderstrike, he thought that the latter vessel could ultimately not be beaten as a troop carrier. During the attack on Core Nine, Zab had his soldiers rush the defenders inside, calling the enemies bastards.
