ZJ-7199 was a human stormtrooper who served in the 709th Legion of the First Order. In 34 ABY, the legion was dispatched to find Resistance operatives on the Outer Rim planet Batuu, and ZJ-7199 was one of the troopers sent into an outpost there, serving under a stormtrooper sergeant. Wearing standard First Order stormtrooper armor, ZJ-7199 joined the sergeant and other stormtroopers in confronting the criminal Kendoh Voss and her gang at the antiquite store of the Ithorian collector Dok-Ondar.
When fighting broke out between Voss's gang and the troopers, Voss used the blue lightsaber of the late Cerean Jedi Master Ki-Adi-Mundi to free Simpi, Dok-Ondar's baby sarlacc, from its tank as a distraction. The sarlacc then attached itself to ZJ-7199 and killed the soldier.
