Xenographologist

A xenographologist was a specialist that studied writing systems of the cultures of the galaxy. At some point by 38 ABY, xenographologists had confirmed that the alphabet used by the Massassi, the Massassi-speaking warrior class of the Sith species, was connected to the simplified component of the High Sith writing system. That fact was subsequently noted by the xenolinguist Doctor Milanda Vorgan in her 38 ABY publication "The Written Word: A Brief Introduction to the Writing Systems of Galactic Basic."

Xenographologists were introduced in the article "The Written Word," which was authored by John Hazlett and published on StarWars.com Hyperspace on March 5, 2010. The word "xenographologist" is a combination of the prefix "xeno-," meaning alien, and "graphologist," denoting either someone who practices the study of handwriting or a researcher who studies writing systems.
