I have the book as well, and you're still editing through an in-use template. Beyond that, you're removing sourced information, writing in present tense, and adding information about other species in the slave caste that does not belong in an article on the Sith species. Herglics, Humans, and Mrlssi are not members of the Sith species, so they do not belong in that article. The Grotthu caste is a division of the species itself, though members of conquered species were later referred to as Grotthu because they were also slaves. Cade Calrayn 04:29, August 30, 2012 (UTC)

Let me break it down, none of those "sources" used the word Grotthu, they only showed red sith slaves. Nor were thoses red sith slaves specified as an independent caste (they could have been slaves from members of the other castes). Everything you are saying, and that I removed was rampant speculation. As Grotthu is never demonstrated in any context as being used to refer to red sith of any kind. ralok () 04:38, August 30, 2012 (UTC)

Hey Ralok. Sorry I haven't been able to get to you sooner, I have been extremely busy and stressed over the last few months, as a result my editting frequency has not been what I would like. Since I began editting the article I have been checking every single source that has ever referred to the Sith species, and have been writing the history section to accurately represent their history. The caste and culture section in general is the same as it was when I started editting the article, and was generally correct at the time. This year a lot of information has come out regarding Sith, and I have all of them. These new things have added and altered information that was already there. It is taking me a while in my situation however to compile all of these and make accurate edits. In other words, it's hard to edit at the rate things are coming out at the moment, which is why a lot of things are not quite 100% up to date. I assure you that I will address the problems like you mentioned, and there are many others. So I'm sorry about that, but yeah, with everything coming out so fast it's hard to add things and make sense of everything. To be honest, I haven't even touched on the castes, I have only been focusing on history and biology... but now both are out of date again. I have huge plans for the castes section (and the Society section in general), all redirecting to the main article for each Sith caste etc.

My email is jacob.blokland@gmail.com if you want to contact me and we can discuss things further if you'd like. As for Grotthu thing, I don't have Book of Sith in front of me right now, but I will be able to get back to you soon once I read exactly what it does say about them and compare it with other sources. However, Book of Sith was the first to ever mention the name, and I have a feeling that somewhere (not in the book, but an author quote) it was mentioned that Sith Engineer and Slave castes would be named in the book, and thus people have jumped to Grotthu being this caste—consisting of Red Sith and other species. However, I am not 100% confident of my memory there, and I will be getting back to you within the next couple days. Thanks!! —Obi–wan Jacobi 13:00, September 1, 2012 (UTC)

In summary, the term Grotthu is never properly applied to Red Sith slaves from the Golden Age of the Sith comics because the word did not exist, however it is made apparent that Red Sith slaves do exist in a Slave caste. Book of Sith gave the Slave caste a Sith name: Grotthu, and accommodated for new information about the Sith Empire having multiple species in the Slave caste. Thus, taking everything into consideration Grotthu=Sith slave caste consisting of Red Sith slaves and multi-alien species slaves. I have a feeling we agree on this point, by looking through some of your talk page comments. I do not feel I have explained what I mean to say properly however, but I will await your response. —Obi–wan Jacobi 04:37, September 4, 2012 (UTC)

Hi Ralok. When speaking to other users, particularly new ones who may not be familiar with how Wookieepedia works, please remember to keep your comments constructive, helpful, and respectful. Comments like this don't help anyone. You didn't point your fellow contributor in the right direction, nor did you seek to find out whether they may have found a source or if it was just their own ideas. That doesn't help a person learn. It only serves to criticize—and criticism without a constructive element to it is just a negative comment. I know you've been warned about and blocked for how you treat other users before, and I wouldn't want to see that happen again, so this is an important thing to keep in mind. Let me know if you have any questions. Thanks! - Brandon Rhea 03:15, April 4, 2016 (UTC)

  • OK, so what we have related to this on the Sith slave caste/caste etc is that "In times long past, the Sith race proved malleable… splitting into a meek and servile slave class… an intelligent and nimble engineer class…". Obviously, what we take from this is that there are Red Sith slaves. It is made very clear in Funeral for a Dark Lord, Fabric of an Empire and Pawns of a Sith Lord that Red Sith slaves exist, and are treated as absolute worthless scum. As these comics came out before the whole "we now have human and alien slaves in the Empire" thing, all Sith slaves are Red Sith. And then there's the part about Grotthu in Book of Sith, where it is not mentioned anywhere that Grotthu include or disclude Red Sith—as you said, just that it's made of mixed species groups. The Endnotes for Book of Sith say "p. 21: The Sith caste system has existed for a long time, but until now we only knew the names of the priest caste (the Kissai) and the warrior caste (the Massassi). The names for the engineer caste (the Zuguruk) and the slave caste (Grotthu) are new" (http://geekosity.blogspot.co.nz/2012/03/endnotes-for-star-wars-book-of-sith.html). This fits in with the quote I have at the beginning here, from Pawns of a Sith Lord. I think the connection of the Red Sith slaves being part of the Grotthu caste comes easily to many people because there was a Slave caste with Red Sith in it before and there is no reason to assume that the only now-known Slave caste with a Sith name with many species in it wouldn't include Red Sith. Thus it is likely presumed that Red Sith slaves are part of Grotthu and not their own special class/subclass. It is not stated specifically that they are the same, but to have it any other way is not logical in terms of previous canon, though it would still work.Book of Sith was also written from an in-universe point of view and the authors can't get too specific with things either (or they can't expand on things as easily in future titles or it takes away from easiness to read etc). So we are not told that Red Sith slaves are in the Grotthu caste, for the same reason we are not told that they are not in the Grotthu caste, if you get what I mean there.
