Unidentified Tusken Raider chieftain

A male Tusken Raider was the chieftain of a tribe of Tusken Raiders.

A male Tusken Raider lived on the Outer Rim Territories planet Tatooine, where he served as chieftain of a Tusken tribe. The chief's tribe captured the bounty hunter Boba Fett after his escape from the sarlacc in the Great Pit of Carkoon. After Fett killed a sand beast, he proved himself to the chief, who accepted him to the tribe, and gave him a black melon to drink.

Accepted by the tribe, a warrior instructed Fett how to fight with a gaderffii stick. Shortly after a training session, the tribe was attacked by blaster bolts from a Tatooine repulsor train, killing several Tusken Raiders and banthas. After burning the fallen Tukens, Fett approached the chieftain and the warrior. Communicating in Tusken Sign Language, Fett announced that he will stop the train, and the chieftain replied that he cannot. Fett insisted, saying he will take rifle and stick, and will be back by morning. The chieftain allowed it despite his doubts, and Fett walked during the night to Tosche Station, attacked members of the Kintan Striders Gang, and returned to the camp with their speeder bikes. Fett told the chieftain it was a gift, and explained that he will teach them how to ride the speeders, so that they could stop the train. The chieftain left in silence, allowing Fett to teach the tribe.

Fett instructed the tribe. Eventually, when they were attacked again, Fett led a raid on the train, which was operated by the Pyke Syndicate. Fett and the tribe defeated the Pykes and stopped the train. Fett demanded that the Pykes will stop killing Tuskens and pay a toll for traveling on their land. The chieftain arrived to the train and nodded to Fett, appreciating his assistance to the tribe. Later that night, the chieftain explained the history of the tribe, and how the tribe stayed hidden while other tribes survived by killing. Fett replied that they are warriors and should not hide. The chieftain replied that the off-worlders have machines, and Fett affirmed that they have machines now too, and they know every grain of sand in the Dune Sea.

The chieftain presented a gift to Fett, saying it will guide him after Fett was a good guide to the Tribe. The gift turned out to be a gekko that crawled inside Fett's body, giving him a vision and making him walk in the desert, until he came across a wortwood tree, from which he broke a branch. Fett returned to the camp in the morning, and the chieftain requested to show him the branch, which Fett did. The chieftain nodded in approval and walked away. The other tribe members helped Fett get dressed in black Tusken robes and to forge his own gaderffii stick in a gaderffii stick workshop. After his induction, the tribe danced around a campfire.

After the newly-initiated Boba Fett left to see the Pyke Syndicate in Mos Eisley, the Pykes massacred the tribe, including the chieftain. They painted the symbol of a speeder bike gang known as the Kintan Striders to put the blame on them. Per Tusken tradition, Fett gathered all the bodies and weapons and burned them at a funeral pyre. Fett later attacked the Kintan Striders, killing several of their members, in revenge.

The Tusken chieftain appeared in the premiere of the television series The Book of Boba Fett, which aired on Disney+ on December 29, 2021. He was played by Xavier Jimenez.
