An LEP-series service droid was employed as a ratcatcher in the palace of crime lord Boba Fett. Originally serving under Bib Fortuna, the LEP droid encountered Fett when the latter infiltrated the castle around 9 ABY. The droid deactivated itself in fear of the former bounty hunter after a chase in the palace kitchen. Later, when Fett returned and killed Fortuna, the LEP droid continued its service under him.
Around 9 ABY, the LEP-series service droid was summoned to the palace kitchen by a cook droid, whose EV-series sous-chef suspected that tatoo-rats had infested the area. Upon arriving at the kitchen, however, the ratcather discovered the two droids subdued not by rats, but by Boba Fett and Fennec Shand, who had infiltrated the palace to retrieve Fett's ship. The ratcatcher attempted to run away, skittering around the kitchen and through the oven as Fett attacked it with a gaderffii stick. It was almost able to escape until cornered by Shand, giving Fett the opportunity to grab the little droid by its neck and announce himself. Terrified of the former bounty hunter, the ratcatcher flipped its own deactivation switch. Fett dumped the droid in a bin, leaving to take back his Firespray gunship, Slave I.
Sometime later, the two criminals returned to the palace and assassinated Fortuna, taking the castle as their own. With its previous owner dead, the ratcatcher became a part of the Fett gotra, serving the new Daimyo as he welcomed members of other Tatooine crime families. During a diplomatic dinner with the family heads, Fett's rancor startled the droid from within his pit, prompting it to scurry away. Shortly after, Fett successfully fended off the forces of the Pyke Syndicate during a gang war for the planet. He celebrated his victory with a stroll through the streets of Mos Espa, accompanied by members of his crime family, including the ratcatcher droid.
The ratcatcher was a small LEP-series service droid with white and brown plating and yellow sensors. Quick and nimble, it was able to avoid the strikes of Boba Fett's gaderffii stick, weaving in and around the palace kitchen. It was also somewhat flame resistant, able to survive a crawl through a tubular oven without damage. The ratcatcher was a fearful, easily intimidated droid; it chose to deactivate itself rather than face Fett and, though it was physically incapable of actual crying, emitted sobbing noises when faced with distress.
The ratcatcher patrolled the palace with a small triangular net.
The LEP droid first appeared in "Chapter 4: The Gathering Storm," the fourth episode of the Disney+ series The Book of Boba Fett, which premiered on January 19, 2022.
