Whilst they were unsuccessful in their attempts to kill Sampak, the assassin did encounter the former pit fighter Tasu Leech, a fellow native of Nar Kanji, who the assassin recognized. The assassin attempted to persuade Leech to join with them, but was unsuccessful. Before departing, the assassin revealed to Leech the true extent of Sampak's attack, which caused Leech to kill Sampak himself.
