Unidentified Jedi (Altadan Igar)

A Jedi fought alongside soldier Altadan Igar and the Galactic Republic in a battle against the Confederacy of Independent Systems on the astronomical object Celes IV during the Clone Wars. She led a dangerous and high-risk assault during the battle that cost many lives but allowed the Republic to win the battle and conquer a Separatist fortress.

In 4 ABY, Jedi Knight Luke Skywalker surrendered himself to Igar, who had become a Galactic Empire commander. Igar was reminded of the Jedi he had fought beside, telling Skywalker about her and what he had experienced on Celes IV. He explained that her actions had informed his negative opinion of the Jedi Order and its doctrine.

Sometime between 22 BBY and 19 BBY, a Jedi fought in a battle of the Clone Wars between the Confederacy of Independent Systems and the Galactic Republic on the astronomical object Celes IV. She led Galactic Republic forces, including soldier and Celes IV native Altadan Igar, against Separatist forces. They performed a ground assault to annex a Separatist fortress since the fortress's shields prevented it from being attacked from orbit. As it rained heavily on Celes IV, the Jedi, Igar, and the Republic forces were pinned down and under fire without relief or support. They ended up in a cave, a position Igar considered impossible to lead a charge from.

The Jedi, wielding her lightsaber, insisted that the Force was with them and decided to lead the Republic forces into battle. However, she was initially unsure about her decision and briefly hesitated before starting the attack. The charge cost many lives but ultimately resulted in them winning the battle, taking control of the fortress from the Separatists, and freeing Celes IV's star system. Believing that no one else would have led such a risky attack but a Jedi and deeming the deaths of his comrades pointless, Igar began to resent the Jedi Order and its ways and thought that the Jedi were insane.

Legacy

Over two decades later, in 4 ABY, Jedi Knight Luke Skywalker surrendered himself to Igar, who had become the commander of a Galactic Empire shield bunker on the Forest Moon of Endor. After realizing that Skywalker was a Jedi and taking his lightsaber from him, Igar was reminded of the Jedi he had fought alongside on Celes IV, specifically remembering the hissing sound of raindrops hitting her lightsaber. He told Skywalker that the only people he had seen possess lightsabers who were not collectors were cultists and fools.

As he walked Skywalker to the shield generator of the Death Star II battle station to deliver him to Imperial Sith Lord Darth Vader, Skywalker realized that Igar had fought alongside a Jedi because of the hatred in his speech. Igar confirmed Skywalker's suspicion and told the latter about his experience serving the Republic with the Jedi on Celes IV and how her actions had made him resent them, claiming that her blind belief in the Force and unnecessary risk-taking had cost lives and that such chaos needed to be answered with order. However, Skywalker insisted that believing in the Force and fighting for freedom was good and suggested that Igar's survival on Celes IV—despite the Jedi's risky choice—was destiny.

After the conversation, Igar and his men found the body of Imperial scout trooper Rell, and Skywalker revealed that he had taken Rell and other troopers down. In response, one of Igar's men, stormtrooper Dooze, began to brutally hit Skywalker with the butt of his blaster rifle. After remembering how the Jedi had briefly hesitated when they were in the cave on Celes IV before she had led the risky attack, Igar ordered Dooze to stop attacking Skywalker.

Personality and traits

The Jedi believed deeply in the Force and in following its will, using her belief that the Force was with them to lead soldiers into a dangerous and deadly attack. Altadan Igar believed her to have been mad and foolish for that decision, believing she was using following the Force as an excuse for her actions and noting that he had never worked with anyone else who would have made the same decision.

Skills and abilities

As a member of the Jedi Order, the Jedi was trained and capable with a lightsaber and could use and commune with the Force. Her skills were profound enough to allow her to lead the Republic to victory in battle on Celes IV and conquer a large Separatist fortress.
