Unidentified Imperial factory

A factory was operated by the Galactic Empire during the Imperial Era. During this time, the grandfather of the human mechanic Tamara Ryvora searched for work and eventually began working for the factory to feed his family. At some point, Ryvora was told of her grandfather's Imperial employment and how it had assisted her relatives.

While aboard the supertanker fuel depot Colossus in 34 ABY, Ryvora felt comforted by the protection offered by the First Order's stormtroopers, as the forces of the Empire's successor state reminded her of the way the Empire used to protect citizens during her grandfather's past. She briefly talked about her grandfather's former employment with her colleagues, the Resistance spy Kazuda Xiono and the mechanic Jarek Yeager, who disagreed with her opinions on the First Order's practices and compared them to the Empire. However, Ryvora felt that her grandfather was an example of an Imperial employee with good intentions, which meant that the First Order's aims could also be beneficial.

The Imperial factory was first mentioned in "The New Trooper," the sixteenth episode of the first season of the Star Wars Resistance animated television series, which premiered on November 4, 2018. Resistance executive producer Justin Ridge felt that having Ryvora discuss her grandfather's past as an Imperial factory worker on the show was important.
