Tybroic

Tybroic was the ancient language of the Chiss Ascendancy's Stybla family. By the time of the Clone Wars, the language was no longer used in daily life but was still used in Stybla ceremonies. One such ceremony that took place on the planet Sposia by 19 BBY gave the Chiss Senior Captain Mitth'raw'nuru, core name "Thrawn," the Tybroic appellation odo, which signified that he was a guardian or protector who was deserving of great respect.

The Tybroic language first appeared, although unnamed, in the 2017 novel Thrawn, the first installment of Timothy Zahn's Star Wars: Thrawn trilogy. It was later named in the flashbacks of the 2021 novel Thrawn Ascendancy: Lesser Evil, the third installment of Zahn's Star Wars: The Ascendancy Trilogy.
