Thetametabuterin was a tasteless, nearly untraceable chemical. When combined with certain other components and introduced to the Human physiology, thetametabuterin could cause hallucinatory effects.
In 3.5 ABY, Prince Xizor of the Black Sun crime syndicate secretly arranged to have the meddlesome Imperial Advisor Fendrilon Koozar killed at the Manarai restaurant on the planet Coruscant. To that end, Manarai Master Chef Tavvar Va'ran added a dose of thetametabuterin to Koozar's Wroonian flycatcher filet, along with a hybrid mold and collafa spice to other parts of the meal. This recipe later produced an uncontrollable fit in Koozar, who died as a result after crashing his luxury airspeeder in a fiery explosion.
