Tempest Force was a legion of Galactic Emperor Sheev Palpatine's best troops. A of the Force was led by Major Hewex and Lieutenant Renz. Tempest Force was garrisoned on the forest moon of Endor during the Galactic Civil War, being tasked with guarding the Galactic Empire's shield generator bunker. In 4 ABY, the legion battled a Rebel Alliance strike team and native Ewok warriors during the Battle of Endor. The bunker was ultimately destroyed by the rebels, disabling the shield generator and allowing the Death Star it defended to also be destroyed.
In the current canon, Tempest Force was first identified by name in Cat Staggs's art print for Celebration Anaheim. The capitalization of "Tempest Force" was later clarified in a preview for Star Wars: Legion.
