While previous Celebrations had been distinguished from each other by Roman numerals similar to the live-action films, Lucasfilm decided not to continue this practice. Instead, this and future Celebrations will be designated by the year and location.
Celebration Anaheim opened with a panel on Star Wars: Episode VII The Force Awakens and also included a panel on Rogue One: A Star Wars Story. There was also a special screening of the story reel for four previously unreleased episodes of Star Wars: The Clone Wars, beginning with "The Bad Batch."
