Shattered Moon

The Shattered Moon was a moon in orbit around the planet Koboh.

During the High Republic Era, the moon was decimated by an Emergence slamming into the moon. It was one of many Emergences that were the result of a collision between the massive Legacy Run freighter and a Nihil ship inside Hyperspace in 232 BBY. This cataclysmic event which ended up being responsible for the casualties of billions would be dubbed the Great Hyperspace Disaster. The fragments of the Legacy Run traveled at speeds capable of destroying not only the surface of astronomical bodies, but the entirety of worlds themselves, and did so to the Shattered Moon, being the reason it is 'shattered.'

After the collision, the Galactic Republic, in tandem with the Jedi High Council, ordered the evacuation of its host-planet Koboh to prevent mass loss of life caused by fragments of the Shattered Moon. Not long after, a fragment of the moon collided with the planet, destroying part of the Central Manse, the main base of operations for the Jedi Order in the Koboh system.

In 9 BBY, the orbit of the Shattered Moon became relatively stable, with rocky debris creating a multi-layered ring around what's left of the moon's equator, as well as multiple large chunks of it serving as individual smaller moons. According to Koboh system locals, the moon was haunted. The moon was the site of the death of the Gen'Dai Rayvis, who was defeated in combat by Jedi Knight Cal Kestis.
