Pouch-mothers were surrogate female Hutts who nourished the Huttlets of other females in their brood pouchs. They worked at the communal nursery on Nal Hutta where Hutt mothers could send their Huttlets for a few hours each day so they could focus on their occupational duties. Hutts generally had a close relationship with their pouch-mother as well as their actual parent.
