Mechanized assault flyer

The mechanized assault flyer was an aerial vehicle that predated the HMP droid gunship, which saw its debut with the Confederacy of Independent Systems in 20 BBY during the Clone Wars against the Galactic Republic. Operated by a crew, the assault flyer was similar in shape and size to the droid gunship, and consisted of a large, heavily armored, saucer-shaped body.

The mechanized assault flyer was mentioned in the current Star Wars canon in Collapse of the Republic, a 2019 supplement to Fantasy Flight Games' series of Star Wars Roleplaying products. The Mechanized Assault Flyer originated in the Star Wars Legends continuity, where it first appeared in the 2004 video game Star Wars: Battlefront, developed by Pandemic Studios.
