Carlson appeared on many shows for Nelvana like Rolie Polie Olie, Cyberchase, Pecola, Donkey Kong Country, and Beyblade.
He died in his sleep of a heart attack at the age of 68 in 2006. The Cyberchase episode "Eco-Haven Ooze" was dedicated to his memory, as was the Atomic Betty episode "Takes One to Know One."
