Ladybright, also known as Bright, was a droid member of the Orphans, a group led by the bounty hunter Chanath Cha. Similar to the other members of the Orphans—who, as the group's name suggested, had lost their parents—Ladybright was the last of their factory line. During the time of the Galactic Empire, Cha and the Orphans were recruited into the plans of Lady Qi'ra, leader of the Crimson Dawn criminal syndicate. As part of Qi'ra's goal to bring an end to the Sith Darth Sidious and Darth Vader, the Orphans undertook attacks against other criminal syndicates in order to turn the syndicates against each other.
After allies of Qi'ra's, "The Archivist" and Kho Phon Farrus, were unsuccessful in their attempts to unlock the Fermata Cage, Vader arrived at the planet they were located at, and the Orphans were sent to rescue them and the Fermata Cage. Cha instructed Vex and Ladybright to board their Starship, the Siroto, while she and Sear fought Vader. During the battle, Sear was killed, and Vex knocked off the ship and into a jungle. Ladybright contacted Qi'ra and requested she send the Dawn Fleet so that they could rescue Cha and then escape back to Dawnfall Base. Qi'ra, however, turned down the request and told Ladybright to return to her and do nothing else. Ladybright refused to escape, stating that while Qi'ra provided employment, Cha provided Ladybright a home, and turned the ship around to help Cha. However, the Archivist then destroyed Ladybright and took control of the Siroto to escape the planet. As Ladybright was destroyed, Cha was stabbed in the chest by Vader, dying while believing that Ladybright had helped the Fermata Cage escape with Qi'ra's allies.
