Kane (Path of the Closed Fist)

Biography

Kane was a member of the Path of the Open Hand cult and its sub-group the Path of the Closed Fist. In 382 BBY, he traveled with other members of the Path on a starship carrying many eggs of the Nameless species. After their ship entered a firefight with the Galactic Republic Pathfinder ship Witherbloom, the ships crash-landed on a rocky planet, breaking open one of the Nameless eggs and setting the creature free. The members of the Witherbloom pathfinder team, including its Jedi, then started to explore the downed Path ship.

The man was in a control room when Jedi Master Rok Buran and his Padawan Coron Solstus, both members of the Witherbloom pathfinder team, came in to it. When they started to feel the hampering effects of the released Nameless, the man attacked them. He attacked Coron first and caught him by surprise, even disarming him of his lightsaber, but Buran defended his Padawan and sliced through the Kane's blade. Buran held his lightsaber toward the man and threatened him against making another move, though the man suggested the Jedi was unlikely to hurt an unarmed man. When Solstus discussed the weird feeling they had had, the Path member said he was glad to see a Jedi cowed and accused them of being just as lost as the rest of them. After Coron bound his hands with the ship's wires, he asked them about the Path of the Open Hand. Kane said the Path's hand was now a fist that would strike back at their opposition, accusing the Jedi of being said opposition and citing the Battle of Jedha as their proof. He claimed that the battle proved the Jedi were hungry for war and said he had watched the Jedi bend the Living Force, something the Path saw as taboo. When Solstus asked what the thing outside was, Kane said it would bring the Jedi to their knees.

The Jedi kept the man tied up for a time before they decided to run to Sula and the others and warn them about the creature, bringing Kane in tow. When they got outside the ship and questioned their plan to try and just run by the Nameless, Kane said that the Path would easily defeat the Jedi if they were all as dumb as those two were. The three started to run, Buran pushing the man from behind, but then the Jedi suddenly felt the effects of the Nameless and the man ran away ahead of them. However, the man then came face to face with the Nameless, which attacked and killed him.
