Jim Current

Jim Current worked as level designer for several Star Wars video games. He joined LucasArts with Star Wars: Dark Forces for which he designed some levels, such as 11. Imperial City, Coruscant - The Imperial Mask. In order to design the environment of the Imperial City, he tried to figure out how to limit the player's movements during the scenario, while in the same time giving the impression of seeing only a part of a vast city; for an illusion of "things beyond", the artists made rooftops in the distance which cannot be traversed.

Current later worked with the production team of Star Wars: Shadows of the Empire. He worked with Jon Knoles, who had the basic idea of the levels, and decided together about the location of the actions and puzzles. Current modelled the levels with AutoCAD.
