Janguine (language)

Janguine was a language used by a species of jungle-dwelling barbarians on the planet Janguine. The language fell into disuse approximately 300 years before the Yuuzhan Vong War that began in 25 ABY, when it was absorbed by the planet's Mooloolian mountain tribes.

Upon first hearing the Yuuzhan Vong language, the protocol droid C-3PO found that it was easy to understand due to its similarity to the Janguine language, but he doubted that the Yuuzhan Vong hailed from Janguine. In the process of researching the origins of the Yuuzhan Vong, scholars from the Institute for Sentient Studies attempted to follow up on C-3PO's observations, but they proved to be a dead end.

Janguine was first mentioned in the 1999 novel The New Jedi Order: Vector Prime, written by R. A. Salvatore.
