Within the Star Wars Legends continuity, Jabba's father was established as Zorba Desilijic Tiure, a Hutt crime lord. The character of Zorba first appeared in the 1992 novel Zorba the Hutt's Revenge, which was written by Paul and Hollace Davids and illustrated by Karl Kesel. While Zorba also exists in the canon continuity, no connection was made between him and Jabba.
