Development

The original publisher's summary for the issue claimed it would cover Jedi Masters Yoda and Mace Windu on a mission to protect a Galactic Republic delegation, which was on a visit to an archaeological dig that could hold Jedi artifacts, from marauders. However, this was later confirmed to be a mistake, with the issue instead focusing on Clone Force 99, the "Bad Batch." This was corrected in the Dark Horse Comics publisher's summary.

Continuity

The events of Hyperspace Stories 10 were first teased by Hyperspace Stories 9, where the psychometry-gifted Jedi Quinlan Vos saw moments later featured in issue ten upon touching Viiveenn's doll. As teased in issue 9, Hyperspace Stories 10 sees Viiveenn lose her doll, setting up other comics in the series; set later in the Star Wars timeline, such issues had seen the doll come into the orbit of various other characters. However, Hyperspace Stories 5 had previously been suggested to have been a point by which Viiveenn had lost her doll as it was seen in the hands of a Gungan child. However, in issue 10, Anakin Skywalker and Obi-Wan Kenobi are depicted as they appear in Star Wars: The Clone Wars, despite having their earlier Star Wars: Episode II Attack of the Clones appearances in Hyperspace Stories 5. Additionally, the name "Clone Force 99," used within issue 10, comes in honor of the fallen Clone 99, who died during the Battle of Kamino of 21 BBY. As such, the events of issue 10 must come after the Battle of Kamino but before the end of the Clone Wars, placing it between 21 BBY and 19 BBY. Therefore, Viiveenn also lost, but later reclaimed, her doll before Hyperspace Stories 5.
