Fort Sunfire was one of two major Galactic Empire Imperial military installations on Tatooine during the Galactic Civil War—the other being Fort Ironhand, near Anchorhead.
Shortly after the Battle of Yavin, the base was destroyed by a Rebel agent as part of operations on Tatooine. The destruction of Fort Sunfire started a contained conflict between Captain Kosh and the local Rebels.
Fort Sunfire appears in the 2014 Canon mobile game Star Wars: Commander. In the Rebel Alliance campaign, it is destroyed by Saponza's partner.
