Endure

Endure was a Jedi Force power used to endure physical pain. During the Battle of Nar Shaddaa, Jedi Master Crucitorn used the technique to mitigate the pain of being immolated. Jedi Master Lene Kostana taught the technique to the Jedi Dooku at some point between 102 BBY and 68 BBY, and he later passed on this knowledge to his two Padawans: first Rael Averross, and later Qui-Gon Jinn.

Description

Endure was a Force power used by several Jedi to endure physical pain. Masters of the ability could resist otherwise-deadly injuries and pain. It was also possible to use Endure to make others resist pain.

Jedi Master Crucitorn endured the pain of being immolated during the Battle of Nar Shaddaa between the Jedi Order and the Flame-Wielders through the Force. At some point between 102 BBY and 68 BBY, Jedi Master Lene Kostana taught the technique to fellow Jedi Dooku. Dooku taught it to his two Padawans: Rael Averross, who he trained from around 80 BBY to around 70 BBY, and, after taking him on in 68 BBY, Qui-Gon Jinn. To show the technique to Jinn, Dooku placed a metal band that the Heltraxi used as a torture device on his own chest.

Dooku later told his sister, Jenza, about his conversation with Jinn in a holo-letter. Around 23 BBY, Dooku gave several data disks containing his messages to Jenza to his recently recruited Sith assassinAsajj Ventress—for her investigation into his sister's location, and she listened to the holo-disk that mentioned Endure.

It first appeared in a flashback in the 2019 audio drama Dooku: Jedi Lost, authored by Cavan Scott. In the Star Wars Legends continuity, a similar Force power named Crucitorn was first mentioned in the 2002 reference book The New Essential Guide to Characters, by Daniel Wallace.
