In 232 BBY, an Emergence—a fragment of the freighter Legacy Run—of the Great Hyperspace Disaster directly struck the Trymant system moon Praknat 3, throwing off the system's gravitational balance and tilting the planet Trymant IV toward the system's second sun. As a result, Trymant IV's aboveground water sources were instantly vaporized.
By 231 BBY, the Republic sent a fleet of drill freighters to look for rumored underground water sources beneath the world's lower valley area. While visiting the planet that year, Jedi Master Kantam Sy informed Jedi Padawan Lula Talisola of how Trymant IV's residents were attempting to continue to live there despite the devastation, saying they had heard of the freighters sent to help find sources of water.
