Trymant system's second sun

The second sun of the Trymant system was one component of the binary star that the star system and all its planets, including Trymant IV, orbited. When an Emergence of the Great Hyperspace Disaster occurred in the system, Praknat 3, Trymant's closest moon, was struck by a piece of the freighter Legacy Runs main hull, changing the gravitational balance of the entire system. Trymant IV was tilted closer to the second sun then it had ever been, resulting in an ecological catastrophe as all of its aboveground water sources were vaporized, turning it into a desert.

Description

The Trymant system, located in the Western Reaches and Outer Rim Territories at grid coordinates L-20, was centered around a binary star. As one of the star's two components, the second sun was orbited by the planet Trymant IV and its moons, including Praknat 3, as well as the astronomical objects Ost Molkar, Taz Molkar, and Trymant III.

History

Around 232 BBY, an Emergence of the Great Hyperspace Disaster struck the Trymant system. A hull fragment from the freighter Legacy Run impacted Praknat 3, misaligning the gravitational balance of the entire system. Trymant IV was tilted closer to the second sun than it had ever been, causing an ecological catastrophe as all of its aboveground water sources were vaporized, resulting in rapid desertification. Several months later, former Trymant IV resident Zeen Mrala was shocked by the devastation when she returned to her former home with Jedi Master Kantam Sy and Jedi Padawan Lula Talisola. Checking data aboard the Padawan Academic Cruiser Star Hopper, Sy discovered what had occurred and informed Mrala and Talisola of the planet's new position relative to the star.

Behind the scenes

The Trymant system's second sun was mentioned in the 2021 junior novel The High Republic: Race to Crashpoint Tower, written by Daniel José Older as part of the Star Wars: The High Republic series.
