Dig-rig

Dig-rigs were digging machinery used in the Outer Rim planet Vernid's worm farming industry. They were worked by crews including rigsmen, haulers, cranksmen, and light signallers. A number of weeks after the Battle of Endor in 4 ABY, the deserted Imperial Major Soran Keize, going by "Devon Lhent," found work as a dig-rig worker on Vernid, operating the signalling lights, an attempt to find a new life after leaving the Empire. He worked with other crewmembers including hauler Klevin, rigswoman Nanchia, cranksman Vi'i'che, and the boy Tyros. Grahamos was another dig-rig worker during that time.

Dig-rigs first appeared in the 2019 novel Alphabet Squadron, the first volume of Alexander Freed's Star Wars: Alphabet Squadron trilogy.
