Bygone Settlement

History

Long before the Galactic Republic initially settled Koboh, earlier groups constructed stone and mud structures directly into the cliff sides. This settlement was eventually abandoned, and their structures were considered the oldest on the planet. By 9 BBY, a group of Jawas had settled in the same area and built a digger crawler, reminiscent of those on Tatooine.

The Bygone Settlement was also the home to many varieties of Nekko and other Koboh wildlife. This included several boglings, an invasive species.

Behind the scenes

The Bygone Settlement first appeared in the 2023 video game Star Wars Jedi: Survivor by Respawn Entertainment as a playable area. Although first visited early in the game, after developing further skills by progressing, players had the option to follow a rumor and return to the area to explore further. Using late-game movement mechanics, players could traverse the ancient structures and approach the digger crawler. To complete the rumor, players had to fight off a team of Bedlam Raiders and battle droids to save the Jawas. Once victorious, the door to the digger crawler would open, and players could speak to a Jawa, inviting them to set up a shop in Rambler's Reach Outpost. Then, players could climb atop the digger crawler to unlock a Force Essence, which gave them significant experience points.

Other collectibles available in the Bygone Settlement included the Geonosian legs and head cosmetics for BD-1, the Wanderer Jacket and the Choppy Forward hair cosmetics for Cal, five priorite shards, two databank entries, and three seed pods. Additionally, one of the collectible fish, the blue-finned crayfish could be collected by speaking with Skoova Stev here.

The Bygone Settlement was also the home of a unique process to acquire a priorite shard, necessary to purchase every item in Dendra's Antiquities. At a random chance, one of several potential rare colors of nekko would spawn in the Bygone Settlement. In order to acquire the priorite shard, players needed to have one of the special nekko spawn, ride it back to Rambler's Reach Outpost and stable it. After a passage of time, the priorite shard could be found in the droppings of the nekko.
