The Borg Construct Aj^6 was manufactured by BioTech Industries and was an advanced cybernetic interface that allowed cyborgs to control computer systems. It was one of the most sophisticated cyborg implants that was available on the commercial market. Designed to interface with large computer networks, the crescent-shaped device was attached to the wearer's head and was implanted against the skull. Cyborg Nanothread Interfaces connected the unit directly to the cyborg's mind using nanothreads that were sent into the brain to create a bridge with the implant's biocomputer. Using the latest BioTech neurothread technology, the AJ^6 enabled a clear connection between the cyborg's brain and the information contained within the construct.

The Aj^6 incorporated a primary processor and several Data Retrieval Processors, and was capable of storing millions of data screen units of information. Several ports were located on the outside of the unit, including Computer Interface Ports, Droid Interface Ports, and several Knowledge Cartridge Ports. The cyborg was able to program with greater ease using the standard data library built into the implant. Knowledge cartridges could be placed in the latter ports that allowed the cyborg to assimilate the knowledge on the cartridges to learn information on specific subjects and procedures, allowing them to become an expert. Audio Enhancers and a communications transceiver was also installed on the Aj^6.

The unit enhanced the cyborg's intelligence, as well as increasing their logic and reasoning abilities. The Aj^6 allowed the cyborg to connect to any linked computer system, controlling them using mental commands. Data could be analyzed at the same time, and the computer operation speeds were increased twentyfold over that of an organic computer operator. The effectiveness of the unit depended greatly on the computer systems it was linked to.

The unit cost eighty thousand credits, while the surgery to fit the device cost an additional seventy thousand credits. A mistake during the procedure could result in brain damage or even death. Despite the advantages of the implant, the Aj^6 came under criticism since it was seen to limit a wearer's personality and suppress their emotions, and almost literally turned them into walking machines.

History

Lobot, aide to Baron Administrator Lando Calrissian was linked to the Computer Core of Cloud City. Lobot was capable of adjusting any of the city's operations, as well as directing the Wing Guard to deal with security issues.

Behind the scenes

Crisis on Cloud City erroneously claims that the Aj^6 was produced by Bioniip Laboratories. Hero's Guide lists this device as the AJ^6, as opposed to Aj^6, while the Cloud City Limited card "Cyborg Construct" lists it as Aj^9.
