On Benath, the Benathy were ruled by a monarchy and worshiped a Zillo Beast as their god. The Galactic Empire's stormtroopers under Sith Lord Darth Vader were able to subdue the Benathy by killing their king, but could not defeat the Zillo Beast.
The First Order's stormtroopers under Vader's grandson, Kylo Ren demanded that the current king, Kristoff end their expansion. Ren also demanded them to submit to the First Order. When Kristoff refused, Ren killed him. The Benathy fought Ren's forces until he defeated and killed the Zillo Beast. The Benathy bowed to Ren and chose to worship the First Order.
