The Arath system was located in the Outer Rim Territories and Galactic Frontier. It contained the moon Shara'Tam and once was home to a sentient race, as evidenced by a statue located on Shara'Tam. Millennia after the statue's creation, it was discovered by the Jedi Sturm Umbrik's team of Republic Pathfinders, confirming Umbrik's theory of the presence of a sentient race in the system.
However, the Pathfinders were subsequently killed in a pirate raid, leaving Shara'Tam's whereabouts unknown for centuries until a message from Umbrik regarding the moon was discovered on an old EX droid by the Mirialan Servit, a descendant of a member of the Pathfinder team. Using the coordinates that Umbrik provided, Servit intended to go to Shara'Tam to find the statue for himself.
