Ahmar's species

Biology and appearance

This sentient species is distinguished by the six horns found on their head, two protruding from the top, two from the side, and two from the chin. Their skin was varying shades of green, and they appeared hairless, oftentimes with yellow and then orange coloration around the ends of their horns, as well as yellowish patches surrounding some facial features. The species was capable of both speaking Galactic Basic Standard and being Force-sensitive.

Species in the galaxy

During the final years of the Galactic Republic, Ahmar, a member of the species, was inducted into the Jedi Order. A peer of Barriss Offee, Ahmar would survive Order 66 but be detained by the Empire's Inquisitorius, brought to their burgeoning training facility on Nur. Here he was invited to join their ranks and compete to become an Inquisitor alongside Offee and another mutual candidate, Dante, though, when showing doubt and attempting to leave the fortress, he was caught and executed, the Grand Inquisitor using his fate to deter further resistance.

Additionally, one unidentified member of this species was found among the guests aboard Dryden Vos's First Light yacht the first time Han Solo arrived alongside Chewbacca and Tobias Beckett. Another was present at the Coruscant Spaceport shortly after Syril Karn lost his job with Preox-Morlana and was amid traveling back home to see his mother. Another could be seen dwelling in the lower levels of Coruscant, not far from where Lonni Jung and Luthen Rael held a secret meeting. And yet another was incarcerated by the New Republic and put to work in the Karthon Chop Fields, in close proximity to fellow prisoner Migs Mayfeld when he was freed by Marshal Carasynthia Dune and recruited by Din Djarin for a dangerous mission to Morak.

Behind the scenes

The species made their debut in the 2018 film Solo: A Star Wars Story, directed by Ron Howard. The first named instance of this species was Ahmar, who appeared within the species' animated debut in the fourth episode of Star Wars: Tales of the Empire, entitled "Devoted." This species was originally designed and sculpted by concept artist Luke Fisher, as confirmed by fellow concept designer Jake Lunt Davies. The member of this species seen on Karthon in the The Mandalorian Season Two episode "The Believer" was portrayed by creature performer , who misattributes the species' design to Davies in her Instagram post about her inclusion within the episode.
