Phee Genoa

Phee Genoa was a notable female human pirate who was associated with the information broker Cid during the early Imperial Era. Cid held Genoa in high regard, considering her to be one of the most reliable and trustworthy pirates she had ever worked with. [1] As a skilled and experienced pirate, Genoa was known for her cunning and resourcefulness, making her a valuable asset to Cid's network of associates.

During her time working alongside Cid, Genoa had the opportunity to observe the renowned Clone Force 99, a team of highly skilled and specialized clone troopers. It was during this time that she developed a brief romantic interest in Tech, one of the members of Clone Force 99 [2], which added an intriguing dynamic to her already fascinating character.

Genoa was designed to be a complex and dynamic character, drawing inspiration from a range of iconic figures such as Han Solo, Jack Sparrow from the Pirates of the Caribbean franchise, and the real-life pirate Anne Bonny. According to Brad Rau, the supervisor director and executive producer of The Bad Batch, Genoa was created to give "guff" to Cid, a prominent information broker in the series, and add an element of unpredictability to the storyline.

In her introduction, the creators had Genoa put her feet on Cid's desk to make a striking first impression and establish her character as a bold and daring pirate. Sykes was a perfect fit for the role, bringing a sense of bravado and energy to the character that added depth and nuance to her performance. Overall, Genoa was a memorable and impactful addition to The Bad Batch, and her portrayal by Sykes added to the show's already impressive roster of talent.
