Zeta One Nine was a skimmer, an armed patrol craft. It was assigned to Jerec's Vengeance Battle Group during the Imperial of Ruusan.
It was part of Patrol 341, with helmsman Sergeant Forley and gunner Leeno. Lieutenant Aagon was the patrol leader and contained a squad of stormtroopers. It was escorted by two speeder bikes.
The leader allowed his troops to abandon their position and have fun hunting the native creatures called bouncers, but when the fun started, they were shot at by Rebels. The vehicle landed to release the Stormtroopers and then went around the rocks to pin down the Rebels, but did not manage more than exploding some rocks, and killing one Rebel. At the end of the skirmish, both Forley and Leeno were attacked and incapacitated by the bouncers.
By the next morning, the Rebels gathered all Imperial weapons and equipment they could find and loaded them on the skimmer, which was appropriated by Grif Grawley and his group of colonists.
This vehicle appeared in the Dark Forces: Jedi Knight novella unnamed. In the audio adaption the designation "Zeta One Nine" is heard. As such, the actual spelling could not be determined.
The skimmer is described a bit different between the two appearances. In the novella the vehicle seems to be a small open skimmer, with a helmsman sitting at the stern, and a swiveling weapon at the fore, both exposed to external dangers, and the bouncer who attacks Forley, and Leeno jumping out. In the audio drama it is described as an "armed patrol craft" and the dialogue suggests it to be an enclosed tank (hovertank or repulsortank) complete with landing gear and landing procedure. When the bouncer attacks the two pilots, it has infiltrated the vehicle's hull.
