The cocktail was named after the Ewokese word for "freedom," and it included seeds from imported Endorian fruit. Suitable for human consumption, the drink was served in a cup that depicted Ewoks, a species native to the forest moon of Endor, and their participation in the Battle of Endor. The coaster that accompanied the drink had an illustration of one of the furry beings. That year, in his book Traveler's Guide to Batuu, author and explorer Eloc Throno wrote that Yub Nub was his favorite cocktail at Oga's Cantina and that it reminded him of his travels on the Ewok homeworld.
