A droid was owned by Xet, a Falleen member of the Black Sun criminal syndicate who was secretly a spy for the Crimson Dawn syndicate. The droid communicated in whirring sounds and hovered in the air, possessing gray plating and a single blue sensor. The droid was also equipped with a arm that featured a scomp link. Xet and the droid attended Crimson Dawn's auction of the carbonite-frozen smuggler Han Solo aboard the starship Vermillion, where Xet's necklace that contained data crystals, was sliced by the rogue archaeologist Doctor Chelli Lona Aphra.
Aphra and her accomplice, the smuggler Sana Starros, later incapacitated Xet, with Aphra grabbing the droid, which attempted to defend itself with its arm. After Aphra sliced into the droid, she found Black Sun correspondence encrypted in codes not used by the syndicate, determining that she was a spy for the Black Sun. The two subsequently placed a restraining bolt on the droid, using Xet's access codes to explore the Vermillion. Aphra had the droid open a door using its scomp link; as the door opened, however, a large droid exited to confront Aphra and Starros. Accusing the two of entering a restricted zone, the droid knocked them both unconscious, taking them to be held in a prison cell elsewhere aboard the ship.
