Wires

History

He was a slicer and author of his own software. He appropriated a storeroom which he overcrowded with his gear. He secretly sliced the ship's tracking computer, and used thirty-two percent of its excess capacity to run his own virtual gambling casino in his storeroom.

In 5 ABY Chief Warrant Officer Xiong Wong banged at his hatch; Wires pretended not to hear, until Wong threatened to reveal Wires's business to Lieutenant Commander Olifer. With that, Wires opened the hatch, and Wong asked him to crack an encrypted holodisc, that Jan Ors had "borrowed" from Kyle Katarn. Wires made sure that Wong would leave him alone, and Olifer would not learn nothing before agreeing to help.

Wires worked on it for two hours, first with legitimate software, and then with a customised program which made more progress, and the unclear figure of a human appeared. Eventually he revealed the recording, even though with static, and made a decoded copy, and handed both to Ors. The two men swore to her to keep everything secret, and Ors thanked him with a handshake, although he hoped that she would hug him, as she did with Wong.

Personality and traits

Wires was a male person of short stature. He had small beady eyes, and a long thin nose. A talented slicer, he used his knowledge and talents for his own greedy purposes, and often would not like to be disturbed when doing stuff in his storeroom. Ors considered him untrustworthy.
