Shortly before the Jedi-led Operation Influx during the Republic Dark Age, Whinndor was positioned on the border between the territories of Sith Lords Daiman and Odion, making it a contested world. It was thought by the Jedi Master Vannar Treece that the fragile biochemical balance of the world might not survive the war between the two Sith Lords, and he mentioned these concerns in a report on the Spumani sector worlds addressed to the Republic Supreme Chancellor Genarra.

Shortly before the Battle of Gazzari in the same year, the mercenary Rusher's Brigade fought on the world, using at least one Kelligdyd 25 cannon. A member of the brigade loaded the cannon wrongly in the Diligence's cargo pod, therefore causing a minor delay while the brigade was deploying on Gazzari later.

Over a thousand years later, during the Galactic Civil War, the Lady of Whinndor was a well-known luxury liner in the Outer Rim Territories.
