The Western Shield was a rural countryside region on Alanciar, a continent on the Wild Space planet of Kesh. It was connected to the cities of Sus'mintri, Uhrar, and Minrath by a series of roads. In 2975 BBY, the High Lord Edell Vrai and his Alanciari guide Quarra Thayn traveled through the Western Shield while heading towards Sus'mintri and Uhrar. During the invasion of Alanciar, High Lord Korsin Bentado's Ebon Fleet was shot down by the Alanciari military over the Western Shield.
