Werla Cayn was a human female Jedi Knight of the Jedi Order who lived during the High Republic Era. At some point, Cerean Jedi Master Char-Ryl-Roy knew Cayn as a Jedi youngling at the Jedi Temple on the Core Worlds planet Coruscant. In 382 BBY, Cayn was present among a convoy of four transports in the Dalnan system when they received a distress signal from Jedi Master Creighton Sun at the Outer Rim planet Dalna requesting immediate assistance. The convoy responded to the distress call and landed near the compound of the extremist Force cult, the Path of the Open Hand. During the ensuing battle, Cayn was overcome by the effects of a Nameless, a creature that could consume the life from Force-sensitives, and cried out for help, letting out screams of agony. However, help never came as she was killed by the creature and reduced to ashes. Shortly thereafter, her body was discovered by Jedi Padawan Enya Keen. Her lightsaber was taken by Jedi Master Char-Ryl-Roy, remembering her time as a Jedi youngling at the Jedi Temple on Coruscant, and added it to his belt.
