Warden Squadron was one of the three Y-wing starfighter squadrons that made up Defender Wing under the command of General Horton Salm. The other two were Guardian and Champion Squadrons.
During the final stages of a successful raid on the Rachuk Sector headquarters of the Imperial Navy located on Vladet, Warden Squadron, using targeting data provided by Corran Horn of Rogue Squadron, destroyed the Lancer-class frigate Ravager. The unit would later participate in the taking of Yag-prime during the crisis surrounding the release of the Krytos virus.
At some point later in the Galactic Civil War, Guardian Squadron's Y-wings were updated to BTL-S8 K-wing assault starfighters.
